Yoshodra is a highly accomplished legal professional with more than 13 years of dedicated experience in corporate and commercial law, primarily within the Commonwealth Caribbean. Her extensive career is marked by her admission to practise law in six jurisdictions, reflecting both her versatility and her deep understanding of legal systems across the region.

She is qualified to serve as an Attorney-at-Law in Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guyana, as well as a Barrister and Solicitor in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, and the British Virgin Islands. This wide-ranging admission allows her to effectively represent clients across multiple legal landscapes, addressing complex, cross-jurisdictional matters with confidence and precision.

Throughout her career, Yoshodra has held several prominent positions, demonstrating her leadership and expertise. Notably, she has served as Outside Counsel for both an insurance company and a global courier company. Her experience also includes working as General Counsel for a family office based in Barbados and as the Regional Head of Corporate and Commercial at a global law firm. These roles have enabled her to develop a nuanced perspective on corporate legal matters and enhanced her ability to manage high-level legal affairs.

Yoshodra leverages her diverse background to provide clients with tailored legal advice and services that are carefully aligned with their specific requirements. Her practice is principally focused on corporate and commercial law, with particular expertise in company management, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy, enforcement of collateral, regulated securities offerings, legal audits, and compliance.

Among her significant accomplishments, Yoshodra recently represented a confidential client in executing critical corporate governance strategies during a high-stakes dispute over the control of a major pharmaceutical company in Antigua. This case exemplified her proficiency in navigating complex corporate governance issues, litigation, and strategic negotiations.

Additionally, she has played a key role in several cross-border mergers involving the banking, insurance, and Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) sectors. These transactions further underscore her capability in managing complex deals across various jurisdictions.

Beyond her legal practice, Yoshodra serves as an independent Director and is the President of the Audit Committee at Occidental Bank (Barbados) Inc. Her involvement in governance and oversight at this level highlights her commitment to upholding the highest standards of corporate responsibility and ethical practice.
